Fall means colder weather which means sweaters which means playing outside and not melting which means happy moms. Right?

Well, if the heat would ever go away. Hello, KY weather. You’re crazy.

Despite the current weather situation, there are still tons of fun things to do with your families that’ll get you into the fall spirit and just enjoy some family time together.

Pumpkin Patches

We’ve made this a tradition of ours to go to a pumpkin patch with our son and now that we’ve got two kiddos it’s going to be even more special. Best part is that we typically go a few different times because we have a few groups of family and friends who want to experience the fun. More fried apple pies for me.

Pumpkin Carving

This has been an at home activity but it’s worth making happen because the memories definitely outweigh the mess. Some wonderful friends of ours have hosted a pumpkin carving and painting party the past two years and it’s been so fun to see our boys go from toddling around in their diapers making paint messes to actually trying to create a pumpkin master piece. I bet next year they get into the carving action.

Freaky Friday Flix

Moondance Amphitheater in Lexington will host an outdoor movie night on October 12th and it’s bound to be fun! It’s from 6pm-9pm and only $2.25 at the gate for adults and kids over 13.  They’re showing Coco! We seriously love CoCo so we might just find ourselves there this Friday.

Silent Disco

This one is something I’ve not been to before but it looks so fun I couldn’t pass up sharing it with you all! Girls on the Run of Central Kentucky is hosting a Silent Disco Party in November and if you’ve not heard of this type of event (I hadn’t either!) it’s basically a DJ battle but with headphones so the music is at whatever level you want, and if you want it off you can take off the headphones to have a conversation. It’s the perfect way to have a dance party and include even the littlest of people. My toddler is going to freak out over this!

You can find more info about this event here.

It’s always fun to get out to the horse racing scene, even with the littles. There’s Sunrise Trackside that’s definitely worth making the early morning trip with the little ones in tote. Lots of fun kids’ activities! I’ve never been to the sunrise fun at Keeneland but I think this is the year we’re going to make it happen.

I’d love to hear what kind of fun things you all have planned this fall!

Happy fall y’all!
